Winter 2016-7 Newsletter Released

As 2016 comes to a close, the restoration of Boston & Maine #3713 continues to progress. The Winter 2016-7 newsletter has just been released, recapping a productive year and looking forward to the next set of work streams (download here). The locomotive’s boiler, feedwater pump, air pumps and other key assemblies have been the focus of work in the past year, and the slate of tasks for 2017 is growing as we move closer to returning #3713 to steam.

Project 3713 is one-third of the way to our fundraising goal of $750,000. If #3713 has a place in your year-end giving, please consider an online donation. Details are available on our donation page.

Project3713 will continue posting updates on our website and Facebook page, as well as sending periodic emails throughout 2017. Of course, the most personal way to see the restoration underway is to stop by the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, PA. #3713 is being worked on in the shop and is a feature of all shop tours.

All of us at Project 3713 wish you a happy and healthy 2017, and we look forward to continuing the journey with you as the restoration of #3713 moves closer to the finish line.
