A significant milestone in the restoration of B&M #3713 was reached this week at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, PA as work was completed on the side boiler patch.
The patch, required to repair some modifications made by the B&M, was installed by Steam Services of America in the Steamtown shop. Visitors may have noticed that #3713 was cordoned off mid-week. This was to allow safe distances between visitors and the restoration crew during X-Ray testing and stress relief procedures. The tests went well.
